Hey, Workie!
The Iranian military tweeted βEveryone will feel itβ over the week and the responses on X fka Twitter were hilarious π
Nigerians especially had a field day in the thread.
My absolute favorite response:
Ignore my first comment,we are ready for you,we get boko haram,we get Babalawo,we get Edo people. what must be, must be for the ship to sail to Salama in other to give Obama, shawarma! Who goesπͺ
Thereβs nothing stronger and frankly more endearing than the ability of Nigerians to make everything a joke π

CORPORATE BANTS
Ass-Kissing: Yay or Nay?
Let's face it, we've all seen it. That colleague who seems to always be in the boss's good graces, always armed with a compliment and a smile.
We're talking about professional "ass-kissing," "packaging" or "eye-service." Whichever floats your boat.
Ass-kissing typically has a negative connotation attached to it, but in the professional sense it can really useful, if done right π§π½ββοΈ
As with all things, you canβt go overboard. Thereβs a delicate line between packaging and being obnoxious.
Ithai Stern and James Westphal did a study that revealed the seven techniques you can use to kiss ass that are most effective in moving you up the corporate ladder without making you look like a kiss ass.
Letβs talk about the pros and cons of ass-kissing:
The Pros: When Packaging Works
A bit of well-timed, genuine flattery can actually work wonders. It's like greasing the wheels. A compliment can make your boss feel valued, which can put you in a positive light. This can also open doors to better assignments or promotions, as you'll be top of mind. Plus, a positive attitude can create a smoother working relationship, making communication easier and minor issues more manageable.
The Cons: When Eye-Service Goes Wrong
The biggest downside is that excessive "packaging" can make you look insincere and desperate. Your colleagues and eventually your boss will see through it, earning you a reputation for being more about ego-stroking than actual results. It can also breed resentment among peers, leading to a toxic work environment and isolating you. Most importantly, constantly trying to please the boss can hinder your growth by diverting focus from developing real skills and innovation. You become a "yes-man" or "yes-woman," limiting your true potential.
The key is balance. Be respectful and appreciative, but never let it overshadow your competence and integrity.
